Conferencing Notes
During this lesson instead of using a rubric I took conferencing notes and from those notes I pulled a small group. I pulled the students in the class who were struggling to write. This group was made up of the lowest levels in the class. Most of them haven't grasped the concepts of sounding out words and simply write letters. The picture shown to the left is a copy of my conferencing notes. This is how I informally assessed my students before pulling a small group.
